I’ve set up a 20 Day Challenge for myself about a month ago to lose a good five pounds. I started at 133lb and it went down to 127lb in 20 days.
** FROM MARCH 15TH 2014 TO APRIL 4TH 2014 **
What’s hard is the starting off part. I’m a food lover and that was the hardest part – controlling my temptation. I had to watch people eat while dining out with them – that was brutal but if I made it through – anyone can too.
** PREPPED MEALS DAILY **
Now that I controlled my temptation – I see food differently. I prefer quantity over quality. I don’t want to waste my calories on food that’s not really worth my calories. One thing I still go crazy over is SUSHI & SASHIMI. Something that I’ll be loving forever and ever. Other than that – some food I’ll just take a bite or two – than I’m done.
My number one rule is portion, portion, and portion! When I was on my 20 day challenge – I made six meals a day – which can be quite annoying – but I got used to it. There’s barely any carbs in my meals. In the beginning – I was like “THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE! I EAT CARBS ALL MY LIFE DURING LUNCH & DINNER!!!” It can be possible when you get used to it slowly. Nowadays – living without carbs is not a big deal to me. I have a lot of veggies, white meat, and eggs in my diet.
** 1 CHEAT MEAL A DAY! **
The BONUS thing I add to my every day diet is a little cheat meal to get me sane and motivated for the next day. If I was to eat everything healthy for the next 20 days – I won’t have a life. This is probably one of the NO NOs in diets – but HEY! I make up my own diet challenge and it works for me!
** MOTIVATION – DETERMINATION **
I often asked myself “WHY AM I EVEN DOING THIS!? I JUST WANNA GIVE UP!” Then I look back to the reason why I even started – all the sweats and tears.. At the end of the day – I just got to push myself through it. I did it for myself – to boost my confidence – to love the way I look again – to be a good role model to my son – telling him that mommy isn’t no failure – to love myself more – to boost self esteem. Those were enough to keep me going!
IT’S HARD! No one said it was easy – it’s really how much I want it.
** ME AT 125LB TODAY! THIS IS MY PER-PREGNANCY WEIGHT 2 YEARS AGO!**
With all that said – my goal this time is to lose another 5 pounds! I’ll be starting at 125lbs this time and my goal is at the 120lb mark! I’ll be doing a weekly update on it – so stay tune for that!
Remember – its HOW much you want it to happen. Nothing is impossible till you put your whole heart to it! Wish me luck!
