It’s due for an update! I’m a bit late this month due to being away on vacation for a week. Its mid-June already!
This month seems like a flash – time flew so quickly and there are so many new changes.
First off – Munchkin grew a lot taller and got a lot heavier. He still looks skinny though – I don’t think he’ll ever be the fat type of kid. He eats a lot but the food just comes back out.
Talking about food – seems like he slow down a bit. Not eating as much and getting picky. He used to be so easy to feed. Now? If he doesn’t like something – he will spit it out right away. That gets me so mad!
Potty train is still not started yet. Way too much going on this month. I probably start him next month. We’ve been procrastinating every month and July is definitely the month! He’ll be 28 month in July.
On the first day we got back from our vacation – Munchkin climbed out of his crib three times and got hurt. I got really scared and quickly told my husband to convert his crib to a big boy bed. All that is different is taking off the front side of the bed. Then I put another single mattress next to his crib – in case he rolls off – he’ll roll off to the mattress. On the first day – I thought “Oh Lord, goodbye to my peaceful sleep.” Because he’ll be walking over our room anytime. But to my surprise – it’s the complete opposite. He never came out during nap or sleep time. He waited till I went to get him. Crazy right? I never even told him I’ll go get him. In case of anything happened – I put back up the monitor so I can hear him at night. This transition is one of the biggest things! He is a big boy now – being independent on his own.
He’s still wearing size 5 diapers and about 3-4 diapers a day. Still not pooping every day. Every other day or every two days. I’m not too concern about this topic – I asked the doctor and he said its fine.
Clothing size – he’s still wearing size 18 month except for pants – it’s not long enough for him now since he grew. Time to get him some new pants! I know he’s a lot behind from his size but we are completely fine with him being small. In shoes – he’s a size 6.
He still loves his Cheerios and bear paws. I’ve been giving him yogurt every day and he loves it. He was allergic to milk for the past 25 months and I am glad he can take dairy now. One less worry for me.
He’s a lot more into toys now. He loves to play cars, read books and play with toy cutleries.
Even though he will still ask to watch YouTube learning videos at times. I actually am a bit loose when he watches these learning videos because he actually learns a lot from it. He knows his alphabets, 1 to 10, colors, and now watching nursery rhymes. I’m happy that he is self learning on his own – he’s a quick learner.
Talking-wise – he talks a lot now. I’m trying to help him form small sentences. He knows how to say a lot of words. He’s a copy cat. Copy whatever we say – so we have to be extra careful what we say.
He can be a very demanding boy – demand us to go here or there. Demand us to get this or that for him. But every time we demand a “please” and “thank you” back. He’s very good with his manners. When we tell him to say “hi” to a stranger – he wouldn’t. But he’s okay with giving a “prop” or a “high five”.
Terrible Twos is very challenging on me. It drives me nuts at times I lack patience. Hopefully this phase will be gone soon! He’ll test my limit and if I give him my angry face – he will know what is going on and be very cautious of what he does. In a way – I’m glad he’s scared of me and my angry-ness.
I think this is all for this month! Every child acts differently and I hope these updates will give you an heads up for what’s there to come. Motherhood sure is challenging and I’ve got to learn to have more patience! Stay tune for Jayden’s 28 month update! Leave a comment below to share your experiences as a mother!
