This will be a series of my #THROWBACK travels in 2009 – my than boyfriend – now husband. It was one of the best trips I ever had in my life and with the love of my life. We decided upon a cruise ship trip to tour the Caribbean. Paradise is what we both love. We went on this trip with no research done and I regret not doing the research before going. We were so clueless and didn’t know what to expect. Ever since this trip experience – I made sure I do enough research before booking another vacation. Nonetheless – this trip was a very romantic, fun, and happy trip. This trip is an eight day trip – so my blog posts are divided into 8.
We arrived at Miami airport in the morning and we quickly found our transfer agent – she lid us to the bus. It was a quick process picking up our luggage and walking to the bus. When we got to the – I’m not too sure what you call this – the cruise ship building? Where you check in before entering the cruise. I guess check-in building?? We took a picture and they gave us our cruise card than we walked on to the cruise. We quickly found our room and then headed to the buffet for lunch. Which I forgot to take pictures of.
After lunch – we took a mini tour around the cruise ship! It was a crazy glamorous ship! It was HUGE! It just blew our mind to bits. After touring for a while – we had to do this safety check – where everyone went on deck and we all did the safety drills. In case anything happens right? It was like an half an hour process.
After all that – we found our dining restaurant – where we go every day. We have a choice of dining at the a la carte restaurant or the buffet. The food was AMAZE BALLS!! The service was spectacular and the presentation was perfection. I wished I took all the food photos but I wasn’t a crazy photographer back in 2009. So this will do for all these 2009 cruise blog posts! Although it was nearly 5 years ago – I try my best to remember everything on this cruise. That’s why I got to jot this down before I forget it totally. Stay tune for my day 2 – Liberty of the Seas travel blog HERE! Any cruise ship recommendations?? Comment below to share!
Ding Tai Fung is a famous franchise that serves shanghai cuisine. I’ve heard there are a couple franchise locations in Asia too. It’s a popular restaurant for Shanghai cuisine and well known too.
I haven’t come here for quite some time as well. This restaurant is on the pricier side because of their franchise name. Since our Vancouver relatives were visiting – we decided to treat them dinner here. Food was quite good – ordered a couple dishes we never tried before. I got to say the beef wrap was deliciously good! Quite filling but yummy – its wrapped with green onions and beef. The wrap itself was made perfectly and the thickness was just perfect. You really need to try it yourself to know. Explaining doesn’t do its justice.
Overall – had a yummilicious dinner. Can’t have Shanghai food without ‘Siu Long Bao’ and ‘Wor Teep’! Dinner for five adults and a two year old was around $85.00 – not too bad – considering we did order quite a lot of dishes plus one soup that I didn’t get to take a picture of. Are you a fan of Shanghai food?? If you are – you’ll enjoy dining here! Stay tune for my daily restaurant adventures and reviews!
Have to a BEAUTIFUL day!!!

First thing first – in order to go on a stress free vacation – the key is BE ORGANIZED! Do your research and make sure you pack everything you need. If you forget a thing or two – that might stress you out. For myself – I write down a list of things to pack. I categorize it in sections. Like; Jayden’s luggage, Mommy’s luggage, Daddy’s luggage, and hand carry. So I know exactly what things go where. Less stress that way.
I try to pack things a week in advance – so I know what last minute things I need to get at the store and what not. For the last minute things – I’ll pack it the night of the trip. For a less stress trip – I make sure I research and pin point down some information about the resort or vacation we are going to. So we have a slight idea to what to expect. It’ll be easier to get around and just to know what you’re supposing go do. My advice is – read up Trip Advisor for the reviews – they are very useful. I read up Trip Advisor before booking all my trips.
Other than the word ‘organize’ – that’s really all my tips. I write down a list and keep that list for my next vacation. Revise it and write down what I forget and so on my next trip – I’ll know exactly what I need to bring. Hope these tips help you out when you plan your awesome getaway! Be organize and that’s the way to go! Stay tune for more travel adventures and day to day life!
Have a GLAMOROUS day!
My second Pandora haul. This time – it is for my girlfriends’ daughters’ first birthday. I got her the pink band with a letter J for her name. My idea is – to get her a charm each year – so it’ll be a meaningful and sentimental gift.
As I said in my first Pandora haul – that I’m not into these charms and bracelet. I did a calculation – in order to fill a full bracelet – its over $1000CAD – I mind as well spend it on another Hermés bangle. Agree or disagree? Comment below to share! Red Lobster is one of my Husbands’ favorite restaurants to dine in. For me – it’s only so-so. Since he’s a lobster lover – any restaurant that serves lobsters is his fave.
Anyhow – we dined at Red Lobster with our Hong Kong relatives – they somehow love this restaurant too. The last time I’ve been here – the menu was very different.
I ordered the three lobster tail meal with baked potato. The lobster tail seems to be on the tiny side. I was still hungry after finishing up my meal.
They have a couple of four course meals to choose from at $18.99 – comes with salad, soup, choice of entrée, and a dessert.
Overall – a very enjoyable dinner. Our server was quite tentative and came to talk to us a few times. Asked if it was a celebration and interacted with our two year old. Red Lobster is a family oriented restaurant and the hospitality was excellent! Are you a crazy lobster fan?? Any recommendation to where to dine at? I know there are two popular places that we still need to try. Lobster Trap & the Fisherman House. Feel free to leave comment below for recommendations!
Have a LOVELY day!!!

I received this Coryman Mask Kit as a souvenir from a girlfriend of mine that travelled to China, Guangzhou just a couple months ago. I got to say – I fell in love with them. Number one reason is because the texture of the face mask – it’s very thin and I can walk around with it and not falling off from my face. As a mother myself – I’m always on the go doing something – so I like this mask that I can just slap it on and go do whatever I need to do. As for – if the mask actually does what it does or not. It does. I do feel like some of my freckles lightened a bit. Slowly by slowly.
This kit comes with 10 face masks and 7 eye masks. Now let’s go on with the eye mask. I never experienced gel eye mask – so this was completely new for me. It feels really cooling and I love the texture too. Although – I really can’t figure if it actually help with my dark circles or not. I’ll need to try another box of eye masks to know if it does help or not.
As in price-wise – I’m not sure exactly how much it cost – since I got it as a souvenir. I’ll do some more research on it and let you know the cost. For satisfaction I’ll give it 7 out of 10 for this product. Stay tune for more reviews and day to day life updates! Comment below to share if you use this kit also and how much you paid for it!
Have a BEAUTIFUL day!
Been awhile since I posted up a haul! It’s another combined Walmart Haul. Somehow I always find something to get at Walmart even when my intention is just to walk around and look at stuff. I think most girls have this problem right? Lol.
Anyways – back to my haul. We really needed a new hair/blow dryer and I’ve been stalling for quite some time of getting one. I wanted to read reviews on some hair/blow dryers before getting one but I keep forgetting about it. So I walked by the Conair hair/blow dryer one day and saw that it was on sale for $19.99+tax. I thought – heck I’ll just purchase it and try it out. If I don’t like it – I’ll go through the hassle of returning it. At the first place of wanting to change hair/blow dryer was because I notice the hair/blow dryer we had was over 3 years and that it wasn’t fast enough. Being a mother and an impatient person – I need to dry my hair fast!
My thoughts on the Conair Hair dryer? I’ll do a better review on it after a few usages! Stay tune for that.
My next purchase included: 2 King size purple pillow covers, 2 queen size zebra print pillow covers, 1 pink bin, box of assorted cookies, Frisbee, streamers, and table cloths.
I’m thrilled to see that Walmart has picked up on their $1.00 section of party stuff! Here goes my haul. Stay tune for more hauls and other life stories. This is going to be s long blog post with loads of photo. I decided to combine Father’s day dinner with the in-laws with lunch outing with the Hong Kong relatives into one blog post.
As for lunch – it was my first time there. We made reservations two days in advance and good thing we did because it was SUPER busy! They have a wide range of selection to pick from. Mostly set lunches but I didn’t pick from the set lunch special because I just wanted something small for lunch.
I’ve dined at Monte Carlos La Piazzetta before and love the food here. My in-laws picked the restaurant to celebrate early father’s day. To my surprise – the price for a set dinner was quite interesting. For a four course meal set that includes lobster and steak was $21.99+tax+tips. What a steal! The steak was juicy and the lobster was a good size too. Nothing to complain about at all. I ordered the cream chowder instead of the lobster bisque soup. It came with a piece of cake for dessert which I took a bite of. Not a fan of desserts and lastly – we ended the night off with a drink.
Overall – a very enjoyable dinner that night minus a little whinny from our two year old. But thank goodness there were people singing on stage – so that took some of his crankiness away.
Service was quick and food was good. I think we’ll be visiting this restaurant much more often. Blogging about the steak and lobster dinner makes my mouth super watery now! I highly recommend you to make reservation because this restaurant isn’t too big! Stay tune for more restaurant adventures & reviews. This blog is updated every single day at 12PM Eastern time! OH NO! It’s our last full day at Iberostar Azul Laguna! We loved our experiences here – it was an amazing first resort vacation. The staffs were friendly and attentive. Our room was always clean. The pool and beach was phenomenal! What is there to complain about? The six days out of seven days there – it was always sunny.
It rained quite hard when we were at the lobby lounge for an afternoon drink. That didn’t last long though. It was a come and go kind of rain.
We did our usual routine – while our son took a nap in his stroller – we headed to the gift shop to pick up some Cuban snacks as souvenirs.
Another amazing dinner we had at the a la carte restaurant. I forgot if we had Cuban or Romano food but all I remember was it was delicious. Another highly recommended dinner restaurant for you – only if I could remember what cuisine it was – my apologies.
We ended the night early by packing our belongings. It was such an amazing resort vacation we had. Time to explore other areas of the Caribbean’s! Everything was fantastic minus the food. Last two days of any trips is always bittersweet. So far – we enjoyed every bit of our trip – spending family time is much needed. Did our regular routine as usual. Except in Day 6 – my husband scheduled a massage in the afternoon at the resort spa while Munchkin naps. I wanted a massage too but I opted for it since I know I’ll be going for a massage right away when I get back to Toronto. While Hubby was at massage – I just strolled around with Munchkin napping in his stroller.
It was a very relaxing afternoon indeed. Even a peaceful one because Munchkin napped for a long time.
After Hubby’s massage – we headed for lunch and then the beach.
We had Italian a la carte that night. The food was AMAZING! One of the best meal I had in Cuba! It was a four course meal and I skipped on the dessert part. Everything was amazing! I highly recommend you to pick the Italian a la carte!
This is how our son, Jayden sleeps every night. Since we like the balcony sliding door open every night so we can hear the waves from the beach – there wasn’t a point to turn on the air conditioning. In fact – we never turned it on during our trip – we enjoy the wind coming from the beach.

If you are interested in reading our travels CLICK HERE. It’s our Day 5 at Iberostar Azul Laguna and so far we are loving our very first resort vacation. Although it may not be perfect in every way but as long as we are happy – we are content.
We started the day off with breakfast than headed to the pool near our villa. I wore the knitted dress I bought from the market when we were on our Havana Historical Tour the day before. I got it for $15CUC. It’s a bit big for me but that’s alright. I just wanted something to remind me of Cuba, Varadero.
We did our usual routine. Breakfast, pool, lunch, and beach.
Our dinner plans was a little different starting from Day 5. We got to choose three a la carte restaurants since we stayed at the resort for a week. The first choice I picked was Japanese – since Japanese cuisine was my favorite!
Let me tell you my experience. First off – don’t be expecting too much because the resources they get are very limited. I give them credit for trying their best. From the Japanese food we get here in Toronto – it cannot be compared. To say the least – the food at the Japanese a la carte that night was a lot better than the busy. Much tastier. The Teppanyaki chef was funny and put on quite a show. One thing that irritated me was they didn’t have air conditioning in the restaurant PLUS we were in front of a stove. We were all dripping sweats! Not a very enjoyable dinner for sure. If it had air conditioning – I’d enjoy our dinner a lot more. Throughout dinner – they served red or white wine. Overall – an interesting experience – id dine here any day instead of going to the buffet restaurant if I could.
After such a sweaty dinner – I wasn’t up for anything else except a drink at the lounge located at the lobby. But we realized that there were a circus show going on that night – so why not right!? We didn’t stay too long at the show because our son was sound asleep sweating – we left early and headed back to our room for a second shower.

Have a FANTASTIC & FULFILLING day!
[December . 8th . 2013 ] #THROWBACK
Day 2 & Day 3 was almost the same activities but Day 4 will be different. We joined a tour to tour Havana!
We woke up extra early to eat breakfast that day than waited at the lobby entrance for us to be picked up by the tour bus. We started the day early and ended the day late. We had to go pick up different tourists at different resorts. There were a lit if resorts that we had to stop by – which wasted quite a bit of our time.
On the bus ride – our tourist gave us a preview of the people that Lives In Cuba. They don’t make a lot of money and it’s hard to buy some of the stuff in Cuba. Aka soaps, office supplies and etc. However the education is free in Cuba – everyone must go to University/College. Anyhow – that’s all I remember. She talked nonstop but I was already falling asleep.
There were a couple places we stopped by. This tour included lunch for us and to my surprise – the lunch we had was quite tasty!
We stopped by the market and we picked up a few souvenirs. I even got half my hair braided for $8CUC. If you are planning to braid your hair – I highly recommend you to braid it at the market because the resort charges $35CUC for while head. You do save a lot of money! Market price for full head $16CUC verse resort price $35CUC – there’s a $19CUC difference.
The market was our last stop and it took forever for us to get back to our resort because of stopping by so many resorts and dropping people off. I was a bit irritated. By the time we got back to our resort – it was pretty late. We quickly dropped our stuff down in our room and headed to dinner.
Overall – an experience to remember. Prior to going on this excursion – we were told to be extra careful at Havana because tourists get rob and it’s dangerous. To my surprise – not as scary as I thought. There were a few people begging for money when we got back on the bus from the market. That was all we encountered. It was an eye opening excursion for sure – to know more about the Cuban lifestyles and the architectures of Cuba. It is worth going if you ask me. A learning experience! The worst part was sitting on the bus for hours – that’s all I can complain about.

Have a BLISSFUL & FUN day!

There’s not much to update you for Day 3 – we basically did the same routine as Day2. We discovered an a la carte/mini buffet restaurant near our Villa. They served pizza, pasta, and sandwiches. We decided to give it a try – so we didn’t have to have buffet lunch every day. To my surprise the food was on the good side. I’m just going to let the pictures do the talking for me for Day3.
It’s another amazing day under the sun – wished we can get more sunshine like this in Toronto. Stay tune for the rest of our Iberostar Azul Laguna travel experiences HERE. Iberostar Azul Laguna Day 2!! We started the morning super duper early since we had a meeting with the Westjet representatives. We headed to breakfast first. To my surprise – their breakfast is on the good side but the sausages are different from what we get here in Toronto. Even our son enjoyed the breakfast too!
We went to the lobby after breakfast to meet up with the Westjet representative. He basically gave us a preview of the resort and gave us a sheet of the excursions we can go on. We quickly decided on the Havana Historical excursion. On the pricier side – from my memory – it’s about $100CUC per person but I was highly recommended to visit there. Our son was under two – so he was free.
After the meeting – we just headed to the main pool in the middle of the resort for a swim. It was very nice there. From the reviews I read on Trip Advisor – this resort is busy and packs with people. When we were there between December 5th to December 12th 2013 – it’s not pack at all. Maybe it was not a busy week.
A couple hours in the pool were amazing. We headed to lunch after our swim. The food was alrighttttss. I came to a conclusion that it’s alright if I don’t like the food – I’ll just eat less. It’s even a bonus – so I won’t gain any weight lol. That’s really how I saw it – instead of complaining about it.
After lunch we headed to the beach. Munchkin took his first nap on the beach ever! He couldn’t take it anymore and just slept. It was good – so Hubby and I could get some alone time while he naps. Sleeping with the sound of waves was just to die for. Since our room was facing the beach – we had our balcony sliding door open every night to listen to the waves while we sleep.
By the time it his 5PM-6PM – we headed back to our room to shower and get ready for dinner. We visited the bar before and after dinner. They have a nice bar near the lobby and a big seating area.
We called it a night around 9PM – we were exhausted from the sun all day long. Stay tune for the rest of our Iberostar Azul Laguna Experience HERE! Meanwhile come back tomorrow – this blog is updated every single day at 12PM Eastern Time. Have you been to other Iberostar Resort locations? What are your thoughts and opinions? Care to share?? PARADISE PARADISE PARADISE! For all my vacations – blog posts are divided into days – so for this trip – there will be 7 blog posts due it being a 7 day trip. Now on to our amazing paradise vacation. Before making my decision on choosing Iberostar Azul Laguna – I read over hundreds of reviews on Trip Advisor! The view from the main pool killed it!
It was an early flight from Toronto to Cuba Varadero on December 5th 2013. We arrived at Cuba, Varadero around 1 in the afternoon. Went through customs and baggage claim the first thing we arrived. Than we quickly did currency exchange there and got onto our transfer bus. Reason why we did currency exchange at the airport because a lot of people recommended it and they give the best rates comparing to the resort.
When we got to the resort – we quickly checked in and the bell boy took us to our room. By the time everything got settled – it was late afternoon already. We were starving and the buffet was closed. So we headed to the snack area near the beach for a fast lunch. My first meal experience was interesting to say the least! I was not thrilled with the food at all. I mean – I’ve heard so many things about don’t have too many expectations on Cuba food – I never thought it be THAT different. We had hot dog, pizza, and fries. Its just not the same.
After a quick meal – we quickly changed to our swim wear and headed to the beach for our first swim. LOVELY! It was breath taking minus walking on the sand. It felt like I was stepping on glasses. Everything was so perfect – the waves – the aqua water – the sun – and the beautiful sky.
After a little swim – we headed back to our room to shower & changed. Our room was only three minutes away from the beach and pool – it was very convenient.
Than we headed to our very first actual meal of the day. OH MAN! I took way too much food and barely ate any. Till this day – I still felt super bad about wasting food. I just couldn’t stomach it. It was way too bland for my liking. I was just not used to it – even the dessert and fruits was blend. It was a horrible experience! Please God – forgive me for wasting food!
Overall – an amazing first day at the Iberostar Laguna Azul resort minus the food experience. Stay tune for the rest of our trip HERE! This blog is updated every single day at 12PM Eastern Time! Leave a comment below for your resort experience and which resort you’ve been to!
Have an AMAZING day!!
