Thomas the Tank Engine theme is originally not what I have planned for my son’s third birthday – if you follow my blog you would know that it was suppose to be Mickey Mouse this year but with his Thomas obsession – I had to switch it. Not that he asked for it but I like to see his excitement.
So far – Mostly everything is organized and planned out. I plan things months in advance to avoid any kind of stress.
I started off with the invitation cards. I made twenty-five of them. It wasn’t difficult. All I did was find a photo of Thomas on the internet. Copy it and paste it. Then add in the information. Measure, print, cut, and tape.
Next on the list was favor bags. I designed the favor “Thank You” tags. Measure, print, cut, and tape. Made twenty of these.
I added lollipops, chip bag, life savers, and fruity chocolates. I wanted to fit in two bags of trips but no room.
I originally wanted to tie a blue ribbon to close the bag with. Hence that’s why there’s holes in on the top of the bags. But since these loot bags rips easily – I decided not to. Instead just stable it. Super fun to make these favor bags!
Then I worked on the dessert labels. Since I decided on the Thomas theme – the main two colors will be lime green and a sky blue color. I designed, measure, print, cut, and pasted on a tooth picks. I’m thinking of getting cupcakes and other types of desserts where I can stick these dessert stands on.
Banner was next on the list. How can I host a party without a banner right? It’s so much fun and excitement for me to customize and design my own banners to the way I like. It’s a little more work than buying but really worth it! Party planning to me is all about the DIY process!
Last but not least – back drop! Super important because I’m crazy about pictures! I take millions of pictures a year and they are all very important to me. So every of my sons’ birthday parties – I make sure there’s a photo area.
Here’s really a rough draft of everything. Stay tune for the final stage which is the actual setting up for the party. I think the Mickey Mouse theme will have to be next year – since I did have half the things prepared!
