[Food] — Dears Cafeteria • Markham Location & Review

g0249 g0250

Dears Cafeteria – what a unique name? I sure hope they didn’t use the wrong spelling of ‘dears’ or ‘deer’ because their logo is a ‘deer’. It will be very funny.

g0251

We decided to try a new Taiwanese restaurant out. The dish I ordered was pork chop on rice. It was a mayo overload meal for me! Way too much mayo and I couldn’t taste anything else.

g0252 g0253

Hubby enjoyed his pasta and chicken wings. But he did mention that the pasta I make tastes better than the one he had here. What a compliment for me eh?

The renovations here is nice and modern. I might give it a second try to try different dishes. They do have a large selection of their desserts too.  What are your favorites here? Comment below to share!

Have an YUMMILIOUS day!!!

[Food] — Sumo Japanese Restaurant • $10.50 Lunch Specials

g0254

Sumo Japanese restaurant is one of my go to restaurants when I want to dine in for lunch or dinner. They have their daily lunch or dinner specials. Their portion size is always good! Comes with salads and soups as well!

g0255

They have the option of a la cartè or all you can eat. My choice is always a la cartè because I am not a fan of over-eating. I give the quality here 8.5 out of 10. Service is a 10 out of 10. The staff here is always attentive and the food comes fast. No complaints!

g0256 g0257

I recommended this restaurant to a few of my friends and they all loved it. I would highly recommend it to you all!

[Food] — Saigon Star • Richmond Hill & Review

 e347

Saigon Star has the best steamed oysters and curry crab in Toronto – hands up for that! Whenever Hubby & I crave for seafood – this is the place to be. We never get the chance to try their other dishes because we only order the same dishes from here.

e348

My fave is definitely there juicy steam oysters. Two of those fill my belly up to the max.

e346

We ordered a seafood fried rice to try and it was pretty good. The price here is on the expensive side but again you get quality. What are your favorite dish at Saigon Star? Comment below to share!

[Food] — Costco Chicken Pho Bowls Review

Here goes my review of these delicious Chicken Pho bowls! Since it was $2.00 off at Costco – I decided to give it a go. It average to about $2.00 per bowl and it came with 4 bowls. I thought it would be a much bigger bowl but to my surprise – its like a snack size. Which – you probably would need about 2 to 3 bowls for a meal.

My first thought was – how good can a frozen bowl of pho be? I was so wrong about this statement! It is actually really tasty!!! The soup tasted so good that I couldn’t resist on not drinking it all. Although a lot of MSG but I can’t help it. The amount of noodle and chicken was just perfect. I wish they could come out with bigger bowls – then it’ll be perfect for meals. Otherwise – this is good for a quick snack. You can just pop this in the microwave for a few minutes – than it’s ready to eat. Definitely convenient. I would be purchasing this for a quick snack. Definitely recommend you all for trying it. Have you tried it? What are your thoughts? Comment below to share!

[Food] — March Home Cooking Diary

Haven’t done a home cooking diary for awhile now – will be getting back into it now. I enjoy being in the kitchen and experiencing new recipes. This month I tried out 2-3 new Chinese dishes. All turned out pretty good. Having more family breakfasts at home as well on weekends.

I have my meals planned out by the week – I would say we have a balance diet. We get takeouts/go out to eat 2-3 times a week. While the rest – I make healthy home cook meals. I enjoy a balance because eating at home is a lot more healthier.

I find that cooking Western food is so much easier than cooking Chinese food. Chinese food tends to have a lot of different spices. Am I right or wrong?

I feel very blessed to be a housewife and stay at home mother where I can make healthy meals for my three loves. I feel like feeding them healthy food is my priority. Keeping them healthy is my responsibility. That is all for the month of March – I am looking forward to checking out more new recipes next month!

Have an YUMMILIOUS day!

[Kids] — School Lunches Ideas • Junior Kindergarten & Young Kids

This post – I’ll be sharing some kindergarten/little kids lunch ideas with you. I try my hardest to keep each lunch healthy and different.

I like keeping my son’s lunches healthy – well what better than raising healthy kids right? Habits are start when they’re little. Plus school did mention about healthy eating. Some school is as strict as no gold fishes & juices. Thank goodness that’s not my son’s school because he has a limited variety of snacks he likes.

g0236 g0237 g0238

Chicken & Spinach Alfredo Pasta       |       Chicken Pasta      |       Honey Garlic Chicken Wrap

My son doesn’t ‘like’ vegetables but sometimes I still include a small amount in his lunch and hoping he would eat it. Got to take it one step at a time right? During meals at home, with my guidance, he doesn’t have a choice. He must eat it because its healthy. Strict mom much? I’m strict because I refuse to make 2 different lunches or 2 different dinners. He’s got to eat whatever I serve for dinner period. Why give myself more work to do – when I don’t have to?

Every morning after I finish putting my son’s lunch together – I would snap a photo to remind myself what kind of drinks, snacks, or lunch I packed him for reference. I try to give him different snacks each day as well.

g0239 g0240 g0241

Homemade Banana Bread       |       Meatballs        |       Pasta with Tomato Sauce & Ground Beef

The school advised us to put numbers on their snacks & lunch. Number 1 is morning snack, 2 is lunch, and 3 is afternoon snack. Just a easier way for the kiddos to get what they need to.

Anyways there’s a trick with the snacks. I like giving my son a light snack in the morning – so by the time lunch hits – he’s hungry and would finish most of his lunch. I give a heavier snack in the afternoon in case he didn’t finish his lunch and he would still be hungry. That’s how I place his snacks. Do you mommies do the same too?

For drinks – its either a juice or a yogurt drink. I give apple juice once a week due to the amount of sugar it has. My son loves both drinks. Never is picky on which one to have.

g0242 g0243 g0244

Mini Sausage Buns       |       Chocolate Chip Blueberry Muffins       |       Chinese Sausage Bun

On special occasions – such as birthday, Christmas and etc – I’ll put in some kind of chocolate or a bag of chips for treats for him. Only on special occasions! I don’t allow much chocolate or chips at home either. Those are treated as rewards given when he deserves it.

Before my son started school – my fear would be 1) he wouldn’t eat his lunch at all 2) he would be starving till he gets home from school. Yes – us parents constantly worry about everything!

Good thing is – most lunches come home 95% finished. Makes me happy that hes eating. He enjoys hot food more than cold food.He loves his rice and pastas. He hasn’t requested what he wants to have for lunches yet but I know he will one day.

g0245 g0246 g0247

Fried Rice       |       Ground Pork Pasta       |       Pasta with Tomato Sauce & Ground Beef

I usually prepare his lunch the night before – so in the morning I just microwave it. Just gives me 10 to 15 minutes more sleep each morning.

I do believe starting healthy eating at a young age for kids. It is easier to develop good habits. Don’t get me wrong – we do indulge in cheeseburgers, pizzas, fries and all those unhealthy food – but having those once a week is good enough to satisfy our cravings. Just got to remember, balance, balance, and balance. Just to remind you all – I’m no dietitian expert – this is fully my opinion on how I raise my own kids. Making good choices for your kids is what parents should do!

I think I cover quite a lot here. Feel free to share your kids healthy lunches in the comment below! Stay tune for more fun hauls & reviews!

Have a TERRIFIC day!!!

[Food] — Ten Ren’s Tea • Markham Location & Review

g0266

Had lunch with my girlfriend here a few weeks ago – I always walk by this place but never really went in for lunch or dinner. So here’s my review of it. This bubble tea restaurant is HUGE and very spacious. Great to bring kids and stroller in because of the amount of free space it has.

g0267 g0268

To be very honest – the bubble tea is quite expensive and nothing special here. We tried their lunch special at $15.99 and it came with a drink. If you order a drink separately – it’s about $8.00 to $10.00 each.

g0272 g0273

I would say food here is average. Some dishes are reasonable and some are a little overpriced. They do have daily specials – so I advice you to check them out. Customer service is great – there were enough staff. Overall – I would rate this restaurant 8 out of 10. A great place to chill with friends. [Cayden] — 6 Month Update • Starting Solids

This cutie is 6 months already! Growing and growing and nonstop growing. He had his six month check up just a few weeks ago. Everything looks great except he’s on a smaller side. Which is no surprise to us because Munchkin#1 is on the smaller side as well. Plus their mom and dad are tiny when they were babies. I’m not too concern about it. Each child is different.

When he started solids – he wasn’t a huge fan of it but now he’s alright with it. I started feeding him two times a day to now four times a day plus breast milk before naps and night time sleep. He’s been eating so much better and eating a lot. The doctor told us to feed him whenever he wants it for him to grow faster – so that’s what we are doing. That means making mommy a lot busier with his feeding schedule. I also started making congee for him. Which I enjoy making!

Six months old with an attitude problem? Uh yes – whenever he doesn’t want anything he screams his lung out! I never encounter this with munchkin#1 – so this was completely new to us. Basically he’s flipping out when he doesn’t want it or wants us to hold him. Isn’t this a little too early for attitude problems? A bit too early to send him to time out too. Sometimes we just ignore him till he calm his bum down. We do tell him ‘no no’.

He started lifting his hand out when we ask if he wants to be held. I don’t hold him a lot during the day but I do think he knows how to work it with his daddy when he gets home from work. Hahaha. Mommy is too busy during the day to be holding him all the time. I am not doing it! And I am not going to spoil him either. Once he knows he can be held all the time – it will be nightmare for me.

Although we are home most of the time. It can get quite busy with this Munchkin. His schedule includes 4 solids a day (3 congee, 1 cereal, and fruits after meals). It used to be 3 naps a day but I cut out his evening nap so he can sleep better at night.

He experienced his first Christmas – which of course he had no idea about. Firsts is always very special. We are so blessed to have him in our family.

Ill talk about sleep training for the next update. We wanted to sleep train him during the Christmas break when my hubby had a few days off but that fell through. Because we all got sick.

We are still giving him baths every other day to prevent dry skin.

Ever since he started solids – his poop has been stinky and very hard poops. Haha. Mommy is still not a big fan of changing diapers. Once when his daddy is home – he takes over that job! Haha.

Overall – he has very different personality then his brother. What was I thinking? I was expecting to be taken care of the exact same baby from 4 years ago… My first born was an angel to take care of when he was a baby! He slept well, ate well, no fuss, barely cried, and just very easy. I was probably expecting the same for my second child. Haha. As long as they are both healthy – mommy will take on anything. Even the frustrations and craziness. Nothing can buy health!

Big brother loves making baby brother laugh. He enjoys his company – that makes me happy to watch. Makes me feel like we did the right thing having a second child. Because they love each other.

Anyways that’s all the updates of last month. Stay tune for more next month. I love keeping a journal of my kids because I’ll never remember these things if you ask me a year later. Do you keep a journal of your kids?? Comment below to share!

Have a GRATEFUL day!!!

[Food] — Me Cha Me at Highway7 & Kennedy Rd • Markham & Review

g0172

I blogged about Me Cha Me back in December 2014 – you can read my honest review here. I have nothing to say but good thing about this restaurant because it is the ONLY Asian restaurant that really caters to kids. Parents with kids will really understand why I love it so much, Happy kids and happy parents right? I don’t quite remember what’s the exact price for their kids meal but it’s between $4.99-$5.99 plus tax. Which comes with a drink or dessert, sides, and a entree. Pretty decent. They even have crayons and papers for the kids to draw.

g0173 g0174

One downfall is that this restaurant is always SO busy! Hope they’ll be expanding soon or maybe add a few different locations in. They serve a lot of desserts which I haven’t tried yet. [Food] — Pho Pad Thai • Markham & Review

Pho Pad Thai is one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants when I’m craving for Viet food. They serve Thai food as well but I never got to try their Thai dishes. The soup base here for their pho(s) is awesome! Do you agree? It’s either Pho or the Lemongrass porkchop with rice I go for.

[Food] — Kim Po Vietnamese Restaurant • Markham Location & Review

g0154

Kim Po Vietnamese is located on Highway7 and Leslie – Times Square Plaza. Kim Po has  become one of my families favorite Vietnamese restaurant – its close-by and their soup broth is delicious! The price here is average and there is a lot of tables – so I never had to wait at all. I’ve visited for quite a few times already. One downfall is that every time I go here – one of the things we order takes forever. I’m not sure if the kitchen missed the order or what. That is quite annoying. At a time – I had to wait for my rice for over 20 minutes while my husband was half done his meal.

g0155

Other than the waiting problem – the food is delicious here. Have you been here? What are your thoughts? Comment below to share! Stay tune for more foodie reviews & adventures – this blog is updated regularly at 12PM Eastern Time! Thanks for stopping by!

[Celebration] — Halloween Party 2016

 g0190 g0191

These two photos were taken a few days before Halloween. Look at my two cute pumpkins – I love them so much!

g0192

This is the morning of Halloween where he wore his costume to school. It was his first Halloween at school and they had a dance in the morning. He never told me anything about it – I wondered how he enjoyed his first Halloween in school this year.

g0189 g0193

Another year – another Halloween party for the kiddos. I had this party organized three weeks in advance. Since my girlfriends’ just moved to their new places – my place was open for it to celebrate Halloween.

g0194

I decided to do a potluck kind of dinner instead of making everything. Just a lot easier for me & others. We had quite a lot of leftovers even with 6 kids, 3 babies, and 8 adults. Leftovers were perfect for next days’ lunch & dinner. Glad everyone took something home to eat!

g0195 g0196

Party started around 4:30PM – kids started there dinner around 5ish. We started getting ready to head out at 6:30pm – by the time we got out – it was 7pm. Well just imagine getting 9 kids ready! It was a chore!

We trick or treat around 8-10 houses. Not a lot of houses were giving out candies but we really go for the experience for the kids. We trick or treated about 45 minutes and headed back to my place.

g0197

Our first Halloween as Family of 4!

It was fun & exciting for the kids but hectic for the parents. Especially this year I have an 4 month old to take care of – I couldn’t spend too much time with my Munchkin#1. Overall the kids loved it! Till next year! Although a lot of work & cleaning up hosting a party but I wouldn’t want it any other way! I love hosting parties and seeing the kids have fun. How did you celebrate Halloween this year!? Comment below to share. Stay tune for more daily life updates & hauls – this blog is updated regularly at 12PM Eastern Time! Thanks for stopping by!

[Food] — Akane Sushi Price Change • Review & Richmond Hill

g0176

Akane’s prices went up with all their items. This tray I used to order was $64.99 and it came with a box of Korean glass noodles for free. Plus it was tax free too if you pay cash. A tray like this is $79.99 now – it went up $15.00 for a 90 piece boat. However – we still order from Akane Sushi daily with their bento boxes – we order sushi trays when we have a large group. Their quality is just amazing! Here’s a little update on their price change – stay tune for more food reviews & adventure – this blog is updated daily at 12PM Eastern Time – see you soon!

[Food] — ZenQ • Markham & Review

f238

Decided to try a new restaurant out – ZenQ is located on Highway 7 and Kennedy Rd where the T&T Supermarket plaza is. It’s a cute little restaurant where they serve Taiwan food & desserts & drinks. Its kind of weird to me how ZenQ and Cha Me Cha is right next to each other and they serve almost the same kind of things. Competitor much?

f239

I like how they have set lunches where it comes with a drink and a meal for a fix price. A set lunch is around $10 with a good size drink. If you order the drink separately – it’s already $5 to $6 – so mind as well get a set lunch to make it worth it right? I ordered the sweet ginger pork bento while my hubby ordered the minced pork with rice. They were both delicious and love how they serve quite a lot of veggies too.

f240

For sure we’ll be coming back to try their other specials and drinks. I’m not a dessert girl but they do have quite a lot of desserts on the menu for those that loves dessert! Stay tune for more reviews and adventures – this blog is updated regularly! Thanks for dropping by & see you soon!
